 It is a sorrowful event that has left a community in mourning, and my deepest condolences go out to their families and loved ones during this unimaginably difficult time.


As we reflect on this heartbreaking incident, let us honor the memory of these young souls by cherishing the unique and precious lives they lived. Callum Griffiths, just 19 years old, from Porth, and Jesse Owen and Morgan Smith, both 18 years old from Tonypandy, have been named as the teenagers who tragically lost their lives in this collision. Their lives were cut short far too soon, leaving a void that can never be filled.



The crash occurred on Monday evening in Coedely, Rhondda Cynon Taf, and two of the teenagers were declared deceased at the scene. It is an indescribable tragedy that has shattered the lives of their families and friends. My heart goes out to them, and I offer my deepest sympathies as they navigate the unbearable pain of their loss.


Two other individuals, aged 18 and 19, were rushed to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff with life-threatening injuries. It is my sincerest hope that they receive the best possible care and make a full recovery. Additionally, two more people were treated for minor injuries, a reminder of the ripple effect that such a tragic incident can have on a community.


In the wake of this devastating accident, the terraced street where it occurred, Elwyn Street, has become a place of mourning. Mourners have begun leaving floral tributes at the scene, a poignant display of love and remembrance for the young lives lost. It is a testament to the impact these teenagers had on those around them, and a gesture that provides some solace amidst the grief.
