Tiwa Savage     


Tiwatope Omolara Savage, known professionally as Tiwa Savage, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress and a baddie.


  The Queen of Afrobeats, and Godmother to Ayra Starr and Tems, one and only Machala sidechick.

  Savage sings in English, Yoruba and Pigin; her music is a blend of Afrobeats, R&B, afropop, pop and hip-hop.

   She has a Business administration degree from the University of Kent.

She attended the Berklee college of music.

Tiwa first worked at Royal Bank of Scotland after graduating from the University before she went into music full-time.

She got the opportunity to be a backup vocalist for the legendary singer George Michael when she was 16 years old 


She has also performed on the same stage as 50 Cent and Eminem.


2006 was the year when Savage became a participant of the X-Factor show in the United Kingdom. She showed reasonably good results in the competition and managed to advance to the final 24, but she didn't make it to the live show.  Savage also said that she was really upset when she did not make it to the final 12, but she tried her best to contain her emotions because she wanted to be an example and role model for the people who were watching. 

She never stopped work on her career and three years later, in 2009 she was signed to the Sony/ATV Music publishing company.  They appreciated her amazing songwriting talent and hired her to write songs.

She co-write a song titled Collard greens & Cornbread on the Back to me album of American vocal Powerhouse Fantasia Barrino. The album was nominated for best R&B Album at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2010. 


In 2011, she made her stage acting debut in the Nigerian adaptation of For Coloured Girls.

 She acted alongside legendary Nigerian actresses like Ireti Doyle and Joke Silva. 

   She featured in eight episodes of the TV series Shuga in 2013.

The singer started 2014 on a high note, releasing the promotional song "Love in Yellow" for Valentine's Day. This single's producer was Spellz, who gave it an unforgettable sound of funk and R&B.
